Best time to post on Facebook & Instagram for B2B

We all know we should be posting regularly but if you aren’t posting at the right time, you could be missing out on user engagement useful for your brand.

This blog post outlines when the best posting times are for both Facebook and Instagram (at time of publishing). Please note times are stated for Australian AEST time zones.


Typically the best days to post on Facebook are Thursdays and Fridays and Mondays through to Wednesday tend to have the lowest engagement rates of the week. Between 1pm and 4pm has been found to be the optimal window (according to sources) however, this will vary depending on your business type and audience. For example at Consult Me Group we know the best times for our page are between 6am and noon.

If you want to find out when the best times are for your business, the first step is to check out your Facebook Insights.  View your current stats and set a goal. Do you want more visits to your page, more engagement or to increase your reach? We would then suggest playing around with posting during times you know your target market is online and continue to monitor any changes.

There are also a number of publishing tools that can help decipher when the best times to post are. Tools such as CoSchedule offer ‘best time scheduling’ and Hootsuite offers ‘Autoschedule’ where they will distribute your posts during the high traffic times for each particular platform and space your posts, removing the guesswork from the equation. 


If you use Instagram for your business, studies have shown that Monday to Thursday 6am to 12pm works best and avoid the 3pm – 4pm window. Videos however have a higher success rate when posted between 9pm and 8am.

Again this one will require some testing to identify the best times to post for your brand and audience.  Schedule some posts and keep an eye on the likes for some guidance moving forward. Remember timing is only one part of the equation. Good content, great images, your wording and hash tags also play a part in how successful your posts are.
